Corvara to Selva Val Gardena

What is the best route for skiing from Corvara to Selva Val Gardena

Since you are starting in Corvara and heading to Selva Val Gardena, you are essentially skiing a portion of the famous Sellaronda circuit.

Depending on how much time you have and what kind of skiing you enjoy, there are two primary ways to make this trip:

1. The Quickest & Direct Route (Green Route)

If you just want to get to Selva efficiently, take the Green Sellaronda (counter-clockwise). This is the most direct path and features some of the most scenic views of the Cir peaks.

  • The Route:
    1. From Corvara, take the Borest gondola (a flat connector) to Colfosco.
    2. Take the Sodlisia chairlift, then the Plans and Frara gondolas up toward Passo Gardena.
    3. Take the Val Setus chairlift to reach the top of the pass.
    4. From there, you descend into Val Gardena. You’ll take the Cir chairlift to reach the top of the Dantercepies gondola.
    5. The Descent: Enjoy a long, sweeping red run (or the “Dantercepies” variant) all the way down into the heart of Selva.

where in corvara do you get on the Borest gondola

In Corvara, the Borest gondola station is located in the main lift hub at the southern edge of the village center. This area is effectively the “base camp” for Corvara skiing.

Specifically, you will find it at the junction of the Boé and Col Alto lifts.

How to find it:

  • The Location: It sits directly adjacent to the Boé gondola station (the large gondola that goes up the Sella massif) and the Costes da l’Ega chairlift.
  • The Building: From the main street (Strada Col Alt), walk toward the large parking lot and the primary lift ticket offices. You’ll see the Borest gondola station tucked just to the right (if you are facing the mountains) of the Boé gondola building.
  • The Layout: It is a low-lying building. Unlike the lifts that go up the mountain, the Borest travels horizontally along the valley floor to connect Corvara to Colfosco.

Walking or Skiing there:

  • On Foot: If you are staying in the center of Corvara, follow the signs for “Sellaronda / Colfosco” or “Boé.” It is a short, flat walk from most central hotels like the Hotel Posta Zirm or Hotel La Perla.
  • On Skis: If you are coming down from the Col Alto or Arlara side, ski down to the very bottom of the village. You will cross a small bridge/tunnel area that leads you right into the stadium area where the Borest departs.

Note: Because the Borest is a “connector” lift, it runs in both directions and stays quite low to the ground. It’s often referred to by its number on the map: 34.
